The ENCORE TechLab is undergoing modification
A 1200 sq-ft space in the Encore TechLab that was designated for future expansion, will now be utilized. Modifications in this area include relocation and augmentation of equipment from the Compounding Lab as well as several new items to expand the lab’s capabilities in processing polymer materials. The Analytical Lab will double in size, taking over the previous Compounding Lab where new analytical instruments are being installed for both metals and polymer analysis. Work is anticipated to be complete by the end of November. All of these updates and renovations will help us continue our goal which is to improve existing products while researching and developing new products to better suit our customers’ needs.
Encore Techlab® begins Intern Program in April!
Two interns have been hired to initiate the program. This program was designed to expose students to real life situations within a corporation, moving students a bit closer to become professionals, and to strengthen our relationship with the University of North Texas.

Recently, and after several months of hard work, engineering students from UNT presented a filtration system as their Senior Design Project. The “Fine Particulate Copper Filtration System” was sponsored by Encore Wire Corporation to encourage students to focus their attention on a costly step within the manufacturing process to see if improvement could be made.
Some project’s goals included:
• Design a filtration system that removes 10.8% or more of the copper particles in solutions.
• To build a working prototype to demonstrate the effectiveness of the filtering design.
• To reduce the amount of human interaction by automation of the filtration process.
• To extend the life of the solution being filtered.

Encore Techlab® recently renewed its UL certification
Encore Techlab® recently renewed its UL certification as a member of the Client Test Data Program! Our capabilities were updated this year with new standards and tests, and we are working toward the constant expansion of our Scope of Participation (To see our Scope of Participation refer to the “CAPABILITIES” banner).
